Between June 30th, 2017 and June 30th 2018 Nancy Montoya, the Senior Reporter for Border/Immigration issues for Arizona Public Media (NPR affiliate) produced more than 350 short and longer format radio stories on the U.S. Mexico border and immigration issues.
Every decision that is made on a national level about NAFTA, DACA, immigration laws, etc., directly impacts the people of Arizona.
Nancy is a 1985 Columbia DuPont Silver Baton winning journalist, Her reporting on the "Death Squads" in El Salvador and Nicaragua garnered her the Silver Baton. Nancy has won 6 Emmys, a Peabody, and several other international broadcast awards for her reporting. And most recently, the 2018 Edward R Murrow Regional Award for Continuous Coverage from the Border.
